Approvals

This page briefs the portrait self-registration and the approval feature provided by Identity Manager.

The approval and portrait self-registration functions offer a solution for end users (identity owners) to upload the portrait images themselves. After the upload, the admin users (JCV Cloud account owners) can review the portrait images and decide whether to accept the uploaded image as the portrait of that identity and the search target in facial recognition.

A portrait self-registration link is an URL for end users to upload their portrait images. The link can be generated after each identity is registered.

The Do not store the image file after upload and the Do not perform a quality check options work the same as when JCV Cloud users add or update identities. The Require approval after the upload option is designed only on this page. By selecting this option, the uploaded image portrait will be temporarily displayed as one approval data that needs JCV Cloud users' further actions to update the identity finally. If this option is not selected, identity portrait will be updated whatever image file the end user uploads once it passes other checking conditions (quality check, for example).

The upload link

The upload link will be displayed as an URL. Copy it by clicking the copy button and send it to the end user (identity owner).

Use the API to batch-generate links

Considering the need to send out multiple links, please use the OpenAPI endpoint.

For end users

The audience of this section is the end users who not have an JCV Cloud account.

After the portrait is set, clicking the Upload button will finish the self-registration of the portrait. Depending on the option when the link is issued, this will either update the current portrait of the identity directly or generate an approval request. The quality check option will also be applied on this page. End users will receive understandable error messages on errors like quality check failure.

Upload the portrait

Upload the portrait

The link can be used only once. The link will expire once the upload process is finished and can never be reaccessed. If the end user wants to re-upload the image, contact the admin (JCV Cloud user) to generate another upload link. For each identity, only one link is active at the same time. Issuing a new link will automatically disable the previous one with the same identity ID.
